To understand the Love of God, you need to understand His Judgement. We stand convicted, there’s no defense - none are Righteous, all have fallen away. So cling to the Merit of Christ and know that you’ll be counted as Holy in the last days - not because of your own good deeds, but because of The Lamb who was crushed for our iniquities.

dear winter time,
i’m ready for the spring. this season has brought nothing for years except pain, regret, confusion - i hate expecting a cold wind every time i open the door. if november, december, and january were permanently eradicated from the calendar, i think my brain would have more peace. however, in this momentary lapse of joy - i cling to Christ. now, the added misery of seeing my grandmother tremor...

Anonymous asked: Hey Farris! Your newfound (Christian) look on life is truly inspiring. As someone who is now familiar with the Bible, I have a particular question I'd like to ask you: what is your stance on homosexuality in regards to Biblical and Christian standards? Do you think it is possible to both be gay and a Christian? I recently watched a documentary that explored homosexuality and the Bible and...

Anonymous asked: Hey Farris! So, went to high school with you, and actually go to the same college as you do now. Just wanted you to know how much respect I have for you and your blog. This is such a light to those who are lost, and both your example and story are truly inspiring!

A Brief Note: On Evangelism
No souls will be saved by convincing them that they can survive salvation. No souls will be saved if God is merely a means to another end.  No souls will be saved by letting one think they can remain committed to their idols and Christ. For a new creation must be born from death.  “We are those who have died to sin; how can we live in it any longer? Or don’t you know that all of us who...

Christ died to pay our debt. Christ lived to provide our righteousness. When we despair of ourselves and trust the God who justifies the ungodly, God reckons our sin as punished on the cross, and God reckons Christ’s righteousness as imputed to us. - John Piper, on Romans

On Abandonment: I have not received a spirit of slavery leading to fear again, but I have received a spirit of adoption as a daughter by which I cry out, “Abba! Father!”

lately,
I have been feeling convicted about listening to my ipod in public areas where I could have the opportunity to share the Gospel - bear in mind, not all of the time, and I’m in no way saying that listening to music over headphones is a sin. So today at Coffee Underground I was listening to music, felt convicted, and took out the earbuds. One hour later, the guy sitting beside me confided in...

Anonymous asked: "A man rejects God neither because of intellectual demands nor because of the scarcity of evidence. A man rejects God because of a moral resistance that refuses to admit his need for God. -Ravi Zacharias" This is incorrect, but I bet it makes you feel quite superior. I suggest you read an article entitled "belief is not a choice." It's really interesting and makes a more...

Anonymous asked: Do believe in God? I know this is kind of a dumb question I just thought I would ask a simple question with a relatively simple answer. Also, do you think you will ever not believe and become an atheist again? I think these are both questions you have answered before but I couldn't remember.

“She would of been a good woman,” said The Misfit, “if it had been somebody there to shoot her every minute of her life.” - Flannery O’Connor — O’Connor, a great love of my life, in her perfect way describes acts of grace and salvation through violent means… how very telling of human nature: we might not understand our sorry plight, our complete...
